Jinan’s intercity high-speed railway enters trial

The Jinan-Laiwu high-speed railway started trial operation on Sept 15, in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, marking the countdown to the opening of the China's first intercity high-speed railway.

The line, starting from Jinan East Railway Station to Gangcheng Railway Station, runs through the city's districts of Licheng, Zhangqiu, Laiwu and Gangcheng. It is 117.49 kilometers long with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

After the railway starts operation, it only takes 22.5 minutes from Jinan East Railway Station to Gangcheng Railway Station, which will provide great convenience for locals along the line.

The railway is connected to Shijiazhuang-Jinan and Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railways via the Jinan East Railway Station, linking with the national high-speed railway network. It will have a great significance in promoting exchange and integrated development of Shandong provincial capital economic circle, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta region.
